[On screen, in text] Indiana University's accelerated program makes it possible for you to earn your bachelor's in nursing in just 16 months if you have a bachelor's degree in another field.
[Ashley] So I had been researching other nursing programs within the Fort Wayne community, but I landed on IU Fort Wayne because of their faculty and staff.
[Brent] Everybody's really excited and engaged in teaching you that you can see that and the passion that they have with the instruction.
[Ashley] Our instructors, they're not just instructors. A lot of them are still working in the health care system themselves.
[Keiki] A lot of my preceptors have gone here themselves, um, so I feel like they feel more, like, you feel more special to them.
[Ashley] A lot of people will say that nursing programs are really competitive, and while it's really competitive to get into this one, once you're in it, you create a cohort for life.
[Sidneya] So in my cohort, there 13 people. Most of us are in our 20s, but a lot of them are in their 40s. They have kids.
[Brent] Some are married. Some are in the Army. A couple of students are from other countries.
[Keiki] Like, we all come from different walks of life, especially as second-degree students, and I feel like we all got each other's back, and we look out for each other.
[Brent] Looking at from where I was a year ago to where I am now, being able to help people has given me a personal fulfillment.
[Ashley] I don't think that the experience that I've had here would have been as positive, or even capable, at any other institution.
[Peyton] The IU Fort Wayne program has definitely exceeded my expectations.
[Sidneya] By the end of the program, I'll be super ready to be a nurse.
