Advancing the Next Generation of Scientists to Improve Health Outcomes

Midwest LEADRS—Leadership in Education, Application, and Dissemination of Research to Improve Health—is an NIH-funded research education program designed to prepare early-career nurse scientists and scientists in aligned health professions to identify, measure, and develop interventions for specific, measurable non-biological factors that influence health outcomes. Through immersive training, structured mentorship, community-engaged research, and practice-based learning with health system and community partners, Fellows gain the conceptual, methodological, and implementation science skills needed to design, conduct, and disseminate rigorous research that improves health outcomes.
