Indiana University School of Nursing proudly announces that Amy Hagedorn Wonder, PhD, RN, will be inducted into the prestigious Class of Fellows of the National League for Nursing (NLN) Academy of Nursing Education. This award recognizes her commitment to advancing evidence-based practice in nursing.

Wonder, associate professor at the IU School of Nursing in Bloomington, is among 44 educators selected for the 20th class of Fellows, the largest incoming class in the Academy's history. The new fellows will be inducted at the Honors Convocation during the NLN Education Summit on September 25 in Washington, D.C.
“Congratulations to our distinguished class of 2026 Academy of Nursing Education Fellows,” said NLN Chair Yolanda VanRiel, PhD, RN. “We take special pride during this anniversary year in recognizing your extraordinary leadership, fortitude, creativity, and compassion that has inspired and motivated students and colleagues alike.”
Wonder’s selection reflects career devoted to advancing evidence-based practice, which combines the best available research, clinical expertise, and the values and preferences of patients and families to guide healthcare decisions to improve patient care.
“This fellowship award shows the national recognition that Dr. Wonder has generated with her Evidence-based Practice Knowledge Assessment in Nursing tool for measuring evidence-based practice knowledge among nursing students and practicing nurses,” said Dean Janet S. Carpenter, PhD, RN, FAAN. “The paper describing this tool has been cited over 40 times, indicating it is being widely used by colleagues nationally and internationally.”
Established in 1912, the NLN Academy of Nursing Education fosters excellence in nursing education by recognizing and capitalizing on the wisdom of outstanding individuals in and outside the profession who have contributed to nursing education in sustained and significant ways.
