IU School of Nursing faculty member Jennifer Embree, DNP, RN, has been named as a deputy editor of The Journal of Continuing Education in Nursing effective June 1.
The Journal of Continuing Education in Nursing is a monthly peer-reviewed publication that features original research and review articles focused on continuing nursing education. Its audience includes continuing education professionals, professional development educators, nurse administrators, and nurse educators across healthcare settings.
Embree is the chief wellness officer at the School of Nursing and serves as a clinical professor on the Indianapolis campus as well as coordinator of both the Master of Science in Nursing Leadership in Health Systems track and the Clinical Nurse Specialist tracks.
“Being appointed as a deputy editor of The Journal of Continuing Educationin Nursing is an honor and meaningful extension of my identity as a nurse author, leader, educator, and scholar,” Embree said. “It reflects my commitment to advancing rigorous, relevant research while supporting dissemination of evidence that strengthens continuing education. In this role, I'm privileged to bridge scholarship and practice, while contributing to the evolution of nursing education and professional identity in nursing.”
Embree is not new to the journal's editorial team as she currently serves as co-associate editor of its “Teaching Tips” column. This new role marks another milestone in her distinguished career and recognizes Embree’s longstanding contributions to the journal.
“Jennifer’s consistent leadership over the past several years put her in the limelight for this transition on the board. We are thrilled she accepted the appointment,” said editor-in-chief, Pat Yoder-Wise, EdD, RN.
