Meet Dr. Sherri Johnson
Sherri Johnson, DNP, MPA, RN, FADLN, FAAN, is a nationally recognized nurse leader, workforce strategist, and policy thinker whose work sits at the intersection of health, education, and workforce development. She currently serves as Director of Partnership Development at Stride, Inc., where she works with education, industry, and government partners to expand career pathways in healthcare and other high-demand sectors.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and former President of the Virginia Nurses Association, Dr. Johnson has spent more than two decades advancing nursing leadership, workforce policy, and community health initiatives. Her work has focused on strengthening the systems that prepare and support the nation’s nursing workforce across clinical, community, and education settings.
Dr. Johnson is the author of the NEXUS Nursing Framework, a systems-based approach that examines how policy levers, education systems, and workforce infrastructure intersect to shape the future of nursing. Her work focuses on strengthening the systems that shape the nursing workforce, including education pathways, workforce policy, and healthcare delivery.
