IU School of Nursing #1 in Indiana and Among Top 50 Nationally

Indiana University School of Nursing was ranked in the top 50 schools nationally for its Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master’s Programs and #1 in Indiana for the Doctor of Nursing Practice. The rankings of the 2021 Best Graduate Schools were announced by the U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in education rankings.

“These national rankings reflect our commitment to excellence in teaching and innovative research and our presence as a world-class nursing school that prepares leaders and advanced practice nurses to transform and deliver quality health care,” said Robin Newhouse, dean of the IU School of Nursing. “We recognize that a graduate degree prepares nurses to lead delivery of better health care for patients, families, and communities which is why we focus on the academic and clinical quality and impact of our programs at all levels.”

U.S. News evaluates graduate programs across six major disciplines: business, education, engineering, law, medicine and nursing and are evaluated on factors such as employment rates and starting salaries for graduates and standardized test scores of newly enrolled students. The Best Graduate Schools rankings are based on two types of data: expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school's faculty, research, and students. The rankings methodology varies across disciplines due to the diversity of each graduate program.
