Doctor of Nursing Practice

Program Overview
MBA or MHA to DNP Transition Track

Designed for BSN-prepared nurses with an earned MBA or MHA to transition to the Executive Nurse Leadership DNP

The MBA or MHA to DNP transition track allows practicing nurses with an earned Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Health Administration (MHA) to move more quickly into high demand executive nurse leader roles. BSN-prepared licensed nurses complete 12 “transition credits” (4 courses) in the MSN program covering essential content and allowing students to transition seamlessly into the DNP program. The Executive Nurse Leadership DNP is designed to prepare nurses to lead teams, work at the highest level of advanced practice, manage a service line or clinical department, impact health policy, or take on a leadership role in a wide range of healthcare and education organizations.

The informative curriculum explorer below will help you visualize how the MBA or MHA to DNP transition track coursework is built to advance knowledge, skills, and abilities as you progress through the program. The track curriculum outlined below is the 7-semester full-time plan of study; a 10-semester part-time plan of study is also available.  MBA or MHA to DNP Transition track cohorts start each spring.

The MBA or MHA to DNP Transition Track plan of study was approved by DNP Curriculum & Student Affairs 02/14/2019, and approved by Faculty Council 02/25/2019.
