Biography

Judith Young, DNP, CNE has over 40 years of experience in a variety of nursing roles and 20 years in the faculty role at Indiana University School of Nursing. She has worked as a staff RN in multiple intensive care settings including cardiac, medical-surgical, and trauma. Judy has also assumed leadership roles as the director of a long-term care setting, manager of a surgical intensive care and post-anesthesia unit, and as a day house supervisor for a trauma center. She has been in the educator role at the Indiana University School of Nursing since 1997. Courses taught include Professional Growth and Empowerment Leadership and Management Didactic and practicum, Leadership in Health Care Delivery, and Policy.  She has published articles related to curriculum redesign, and evidence-based teaching strategies.  Dr. Young has presented at national and international conferences. She is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the American Nurses Association, Indiana Nursing Association, National League for Nursing, and the Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau.  Judith is the secretary for the Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International.  In addition, Judith is the recipient of multiple Curricular Enhancement Grants, and Awards including the IU Trustees Award.
