Biography

Dr. Stiffler is a certified nurse-midwife and has practiced full-scope midwifery care for over 25 years prior to coming into academia. Dr. Stiffler mentors students in the BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD programs. Her expertise is in women’s health, and her area of research is in the high rate of infant and maternal mortality in the state of Indiana, especially in the disparity between the numbers of Black infant mortality compared to White infant mortality. She is passionate that no baby dies of a sleep related death.
