Bassett graduated from Western Governors University with a Masters in Nursing Leadership and Management in 2014. She has over 10 years of experience as a staff nurse, including management experience, in clinical areas such as neonatal intensive care, postpartum, newborn nursery, skilled rehabilitation, and long-term care. She currently teaches the senior level advanced acute care course and psych clinicals. She previously taught sections of medical/surgical, OB, and leadership clinical, as well as the skills lab. Bassett has experience with international nursing care. Her research interests include incorporating active learning strategies within the classroom, the impact of leadership when applying systems thinking to organizations, and the development of a dedicated education unit with a concept-based clinical model.
