During the seminar, you will focus on the concepts essential to teaching adults as well as techniques for preparing and teaching nurse aides in classroom and clinical settings. You will develop a program of learning according to established criteria.

Please visit the State Department of Health website for information about eligibility and qualifications to serve as instructors or program directors in either program. Attendance at this training does not automatically qualify an individual to serve in these roles.

Seminar Format

This seminar is offered in two parts. Both parts are required to successfully complete the training.

  • Part 1 is a one-day, in-person training via Zoom on the day listed on the registration page.
  • Part 2 is an online self study course that will take an average computer user about 3-4  hours to complete. Learners will have approximately 10 days to complete the online self study requirement.

Registration for the program is limited. Advance registration is required. Registration close dates are listed in the "When" section below, and occur a few days prior to the activity date to ensure all participants receive the appropriate communications and information prior to the workshop.

Participants are responsible for printing all handouts, which are e-mailed to the e-mail address used in registration a few days prior to the workshop.  If someone else registers you and does not enter your e-mail address, they will receive all communications and are responsible for forwarding them.

Important Note: All handouts are sent via email the week prior to the live workshop to be printed or saved for use on a device/laptop during the workshop. Participants must print handouts ahead if they desire hard copies- no handouts are provided.

All Registrants:  Please note that your registration confirmation email contains important instructions regarding setting up your guest account for access to the Canvas learning management system. Please complete this process as soon as possible to avoid delay in accessing the course.  Registrants will receive handouts and workshop details several days prior to the workshop date, and will be added to the Canvas course site the day prior to the workshop.
