Requirements for All Students
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
All students (with the exception of RN to BSN students) are required to have completed CPR certification/recertification before admission to the first semester nursing courses. This certification must include one-person, two-person, and infant, child, and adult CPR. Certification must remain current throughout the nursing program. Each student must provide a copy of his or her current CPR certification card.
The two approved certifications are American Red Cross Professional Rescuer and American Heart Association Health Care Provider.
- Certification through the American Heart Association is valid for two years.
- Certification through the American Red Cross is valid for one year. Visit their Web site for more information.
