Training in Health Behavior Research
Fellowship Award Provisions
Predoctoral and postdoctoral fellows receive individualized guidance to accommodate past experiences, research interests, and future career plans. Fellows meet their research and training goals through an individualized and closely monitored training program that fosters strong mentoring relationships between trainees, their nursing faculty, and interdisciplinary faculty advisors.
In addition, the award provides:
Predoctoral (post-master's or BSN to PhD students)
- A monthly stipend and partial payment of tuition and fees.
- Support for travel to a scientific meeting as well as for training/research related expenses.
- Two (2) years of support, with renewal of each year contingent upon satisfactory progress at annual review.
Postdoctoral
- A monthly stipend, partial payment of tuition, and reimbursement for health insurance.
- Support for travel to a scientific meeting as well as for training/research related expenses.
- Two (2) years of support, with renewal of each year contingent upon satisfactory progress at annual review.
- Must agree to NIH Payback Agreement (PHS Form 6031, PDF) to engage in a month of health-related research, health-related research training, or health-related teaching for each month receive training grant support for postdoctoral research training up to and including 12 months.
