Faculty Research Groups
The primary goal of faculty research groups (FRGs) is to foster the continued development of faculty grant writing in several key areas that build on the existing strengths of the Indiana University School of Nursing faculty. The functions of the faculty research groups are to:
- Facilitate the generation of new ideas and proposal development for external funding of research and scholarship in a particular focus area;
- Provide opportunities for peer review of grant proposals and manuscripts; and
- Create cohesive groups of faculty with common interests/expertise who can support one another to develop programs of research and scholarship and, in the process, build cumulative science (e.g., identifying common instruments or conceptual frameworks that could be used across studies).
The groups are comprised of faculty who are committed to developing their research and scholarship through grant writing in the four areas listed below. It is recommended that faculty work with only one group in order to form a cohesive team. Additional groups may be created as needs evolve and assessment of the number and focus of the groups will occur regularly.
