Center for Enhancing Quality of Life in Chronic Illness

The Center for Enhancing Quality of Life in Chronic Illness (CEQL) was one of nine research centers funded by the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) at National Institutes of Health (NIH). CEQL’s overall goal is to advance knowledge related to improving the health-related quality of life in persons with chronic conditions across the life span.

Funded pilot studies, a major component of the center, enable eligible investigators to explore problems relating to the quality of life in persons with chronic illness and to gather sufficient data to pursue other external funding.

The center will make a call for proposals periodically. These pilot studies will be supported for one year and approximately $10,000 will be available per study. Typically, applicants will submit a letter of intent. An interdisciplinary approach must be utilized to promote the collaboration of nurse scientists with scientists of other disciplines. One of the principal investigators must hold an Indiana University School of Nursing appointment.
