Center for Research in Nursing Education
Take advantage of the internationally known faculty expertise in the first-of-its-kind, nationally recognized Center for Research in Nursing Education! Indiana University School of Nursing is the first school to be recognized by the National League for Nursing as a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education in TWO categories: creating environments that advance the science of nursing education and promoting the pedagogical expertise of faculty.
The mission of the center is to improve the health and quality of life for citizens of central Indiana, the state, the nation, and beyond by developing, testing, and disseminating new pedagogies for nursing education and teacher preparation. We prepare you to meet society's need for safe, quality, and compassionate care. Join our team of nursing education scientists and scholars who have been awarded more than 8 million dollars in grant funding, published more than 170 journal articles, given more than 120 presentations, and more than 180 keynote speeches, workshops, symposia or other sessions in the previous five years.
We can help prepare you, as a nursing education researcher, to attain your goals through:
- Internal funding and awards
- Assistance with grant writing, small research projects, publications, abstracts, presentation, program of research, and mentoring (pre-tenure as well as post-tenure faculty)
- Research training in nursing education
You can gain valuable experience through interactive, hands-on research training facilitated by internationally recognized faculty experts in nursing education research. The Institute for Heideggerian Hermeneutical Methodologies, the Institute for Hermeneutic Phenomenology, and the biennial Narrative Pedagogy Research and Scholarship International Conference provide forums for the exploration of hermeneutic phenomenology and narrative pedagogy with colleagues from around the world. Whether you are new to this field or an expert, you will gain a richer understanding of and greater abilities of implementation in these critical areas of research and scholarship.
