IU School of Nursing Faculty Awarded Grant from American Heart Association
Pam Jeffries, DNS, RN, FAAN, (left) and Julie Settles, MSN, APRN-BC, ACNP, CEN, (right) were awarded a $125,000 grant from the American Heart Association. This interdisciplinary study, ACLS Instruction: Do We Know Tomorrow What We Learned Today, will assess the outcomes of teaching advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) to nurse practitioner students, 4th year medical students and new graduate nurses using two different methods: a high-fidelity patient simulator or the traditional method of using static mannequins and rhythm simulators. Collaborating partners include the Indiana University Schools of Nursing and Medicine and Clarian Health.
