In 2009-2010, IUSON provided over $700,000 in scholarships and fellowships to nursing students. This support allows students to focus on their studies and graduate sooner. By sustaining students, IUSON helps keep the cost of education low and attracts the best and the brightest nurses.

Undergraduate Scholarships

All nursing students have the opportunity to seek financial assistance in the form of scholarship support. In 2009-2010, over 28% of IU nursing students received scholarship money. The Florence Nightingale Scholarship account was established to provide students the kind of support that would help them to focus on their studies and reduce the financial burden of tuition and books. Honors Scholarships, also supported by the fund, provide extra resources for IUSON’s top students to conduct faculty-directed research as undergrads. Click here to directly support nursing students.

Graduate Fellowships

Graduate student fellowships allow IUSON to recruit and retain the top prospects for future nursing faculty members and researchers. A critical element to solving the nursing shortage is increasing nursing faculty. IUSON is investing resources in graduate-level students by providing financial incentives and support.
