Giving to the School of Nursing
Impact IUPUI Campaign
For almost 100 years, patients have felt the impact of professional and caring nurses educated at Indiana University School of Nursing (IUSON). The School has launched a fundraising campaign under the guidance of IUPUI, ensuring that many more patients’ lives will be transformed. IUSON has set a fundraising goal of $16 million in philanthropic giving and non-governmental grants. The campaign concludes in 2013, leading up to the School’s 100th anniversary celebration and recognition in 2014.
Campaign Funding Priorities
Attracting and Retaining Exceptional Students
Student scholarships and fellowships ensure that our students can focus on their studies and hands-on clinical experiences by decreasing the amount they will owe for their education; allowing them to work less and concentrate fully on their studies. Not only does student support ensure the success of our current students, but scholarships help attract stellar nursing students for the future.

Fostering Faculty Excellence
As the largest nursing school in the country to offer both undergraduate and doctoral degrees, we are easing faculty shortages by educating more nurses at the graduate level and grooming doctoral candidates for faculty positions. We are part of the solution to the nursing shortage by educating the next generation of nurse leaders. To support the professors and mentors of nursing's next generation, we must increase the number of endowed chairs, endowed professors, and graduate fellowships.

Transcending Geographic Boundaries
Global health issues transcend geographic boundaries. We are building partnerships across the world to address global health challenges. IUSON is committed to expanding students' knowledge and appreciation of different cultures by providing experiences abroad and locally through service-learning opportunities at home.

Translating Research from Lab to Practice
Research at IUSON is focused in these areas: cancer care, quality of life in chronic illness, palliative and end-of-life care, and nursing education. IUSON is ranked 9th among the 80 schools of nursing receiving funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). You can assist by providing support for research by funding: pilot research studies; faculty leadership, assistantships and fellowships; or endowing a Center to ensure ongoing, operational support.

Please consider making an impact on the future of nursing by making a gift to the School of Nursing. There are a number of ways you can make a meaningful gift: by making a current gift; making a pledge payable over multiple years allowing you to make an even greater impact; transferring appreciated securities; through a Charitable Gift Annuity; making a tax-free gift through your IRA Charitable Rollover; through your estate plans; or, by a combination of the options list above. The campus is investing in two of the campaign priorities by providing a fixed-amount match for a special undergraduate scholarships called a RISE Scholarship* and endowed faculty chairs. To discuss your interests and opportunities for your investment, please contact Janet McCully, Development Director for IUSON, at (317) 274-4293, or at jmccully [at] iupui [dot] edu.
*The recipient(s) of these named, endowed RISE scholarships will participate in two of four initiatives: Research, International, Service-Learning or Experiential-Learning Experiences.
