Biosketch

Dr. Jeffries is the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs at Indiana University School of Nursing. She is nationally known for her development work and research on the topic of simulations and online teaching and learning. Her work is with experiential learning and innovative teaching strategies using simulations and online learning methods. She served as the project director for the national simulation study funded by the National League for Nursing and the Laerdal Corporation from 2003-2006. The study was conducted across eight geographic sites in the United States over a three-year period. Dr. Jeffries is currently the project director for a second NLN and Laerdal grant for developing 9 web-based modules for faculty development in simulation.

Jeffries' research and scholarship of teaching are focused on learning outcomes, new pedagogies, innovative teaching strategies, and the delivery of the content using technology and simulations in nursing education. She has received multiple awards for teaching excellence, has over 30 publications in teaching and research, and received over 1.5 million in grants, fellowships, and awards.
