Biosketch
Michael T. Weaver, PhD, RN, FAAN, is a professor and director of Statistical Services. He has been funded for over 15 years, with a primary research focus on health promotion, disease, and injury prevention. With an emphasis on occupational populations, he has worked as co-principal investigator on the City of Birmingham Good Health Program, which has won national recognition through the C. Everitt Koop Award for Worksite Health Promotion, National Association for Public Worksite Health Promotion’s Exemplary Public Worksite Health Promotion Award, International Benchmarking Clearinghouse’s Best Practice Organization Recognition, and the Wellness Councils of America’s Well Workplace Gold Award. He is a member of the National Institutes for Health Nursing Science Child and Family study section, and is Co-Chair of the American Academy of Nursing’s Genetics Health Care Expert Panel.
