Biosketch
Dr. Rogge is nationally certified as a family nurse practitioner and is interested in the care of adults and children who are obese. As a result of her interest in patients suffering from obesity, she has focused her academic and research interests on metabolism, genetics, and immunology. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and was a speaker at the Academy's Annual Conference in 2001 on the pathophysiology of obesity and weight loss. She is also a member of the National Association for the Study of Obesity. She uses both qualitative (interpretive phenomenology) and quantitative research methodologies. Her major teaching methods are Socratic questioning and narrative pedagogy in support of practice-based learning.
