Biosketch

Dr. Linde's background is in medical-surgical nursing and she has special expertise in cardiac-related problems and emergency nursing. She has given many presentations on the care and rehabilitation of persons with myocardial infarctions, cardiac surgery, pacemakers, etc. She was co-author of The Effectiveness of a Comprehensive Teaching Program on the Knowledge and Compliance of Cardiovascular Patients, published in Nursing Research. Dr. Linde's dissertation research study was titled The Effectiveness of Three Interventions to Increase Research Utilization Among Practicing Nurses. Dr. Linde also is interested in orthostatic vital signs and pain assessment in the emergency room setting and other emergency nursing issues, as well as research utilization issues.

Dr. Linde's current research interests and presentations involve the scholarship of teaching, especially in the areas of service learning, diversity, and learning communities for freshman students. Her current teaching assignments are course leader for the freshman pre-nursing learning communities (B104), the Summer Bridge Program and for B232, the sophomore introduction to the discipline course. Dr. Linde was the recipient of a Boyer Scholarship in 2005-06 to examine the impact of service learning and diversity in the Nursing B104 clusters.
