ATI TEAS V TEst Information

Beginning with Spring 2012 admission, the Test of Essential Academic Skills V (TEAS V) will be required to apply to the School of Nursing.  This is a computer-based test.  Version V is the only version of the TEAS that will be accepted.

**Please note, Sept. 1 will be the last testing date for Spring 2013 admission. No additional dates will be available.**

• You may take the TEAS V test no more than two (2) times in a two-year period.  For your admission application, the composite score of your test will be used.  If you have taken the test only once, your first composite score will be used.  If you take the test a second time, the second composite score will be used.
  
  
• There are 170 questions on the exam that cover reading, math, science and English.  You will have 209 minutes to complete the exam.  Calculators are not permitted. If you have never taken the TEAS V Test, the first thing you need to do is create an account with ATI, the company that provides the test.

Account Set Up

An account is needed to register for the test.  To set up an account:

1. Go to the ATI website: www.atitesting.com
2. Click on the Create an Account link
3. Your username is your ten-digit IU student ID#
4. Institution – you will see a long list of choices.  Scroll down and select IU Core TEAS. 
   NOTE: Do NOT choose  IN U IUPU Indianapolis.  If you make this selection, your scores will not be sent to the correct institution.
5. There is more than one version of the TEAS test.  Be sure to select TEAS V. If you have previously taken the TEAS V at another school, see the instructions below for  Requesting TEAS V Results from Another Testing Site.

Registering for the TEAS V Test

1. Log into the website: www.atitesting.com
2. Click on the Register for TEAS link
3. Enter your username and password.  Remember:  your username is your ten-digit IU student ID#
4. Go to the “Online Store"
5. Go to “Register for TEAS"
6. Choose the state and city
7. Select one of the available test dates.  Important:  Give careful thought to the test date you choose. There are no refunds and you cannot reschedule your exam once you register.
8. Review the information under the Learn More tab.  Plan to arrive at the testing center at least 15 minutes before the start of the test.  Students who arrive after the starting time of the test will not be allowed to test.
9. Select a test date and register for the test
10. Once you have registered for the test you will receive a confirmation and further instructions from ATI
11. The cost of the TEAS V test is $50.00.  Payment may be made by debit card (Master Card or VISA only) or credit card (Master Card, VISA, Discover or American Express.)

Requesting TEAS V Results from Another Testing Site

If you have taken the TEAS V test at another school, please have the results sent to IU Core TEAS so that the IU School of Nursing will receive your test results. Follow these instructions:

• If you have taken the test at another site only ONCE, request that your results be sent to the IU School of Nursing.
• If you have taken the test at another site two or more times, request that your SECOND set of result be sent to the IU School of Nursing. ONLY the SECOND SET of results taken within the past two (2) years will be used for admission.

To request your results, edit your profile:

1. Go to www.atitesting.com
2. Add your 10-digit IU Student ID# in the "Student/Employer ID" field (in the profile under the "institution" field)
3. Click "Update" to save changes

Request your results:

1. On the ATI Web site, go to "Online Store"
2. Add the "TEAS Transcript" to your cart. The fee to have your test results sent to the IU School of Nursing is $25. Payment may be made by debit card (Master Card or VISA only) or credit card (Master Card, VISA, Discover or American Express.)
3. Choose IU Core TEAS to have your scores sent to IU School of Nursing
4. A copy of your results will be sent to the School of Nursing and downloaded to your admission application

Sending TEAS V Results if You Take the Test at a Site Other than IUPUI

Once you have taken the test at a site other than IUPUI, please follow the steps above to have the results sent to the IU School of Nursing. NOTE: You will be charged the testing fee for the site where you take the test plus an additional $25 to have the results sent to IUPUI.
