Campus Resources
Center for Service & Learning scholarships
The IUPUI Center for Service & Learning (CSL) offers campus-based scholarship funds to support educational expenses for undergraduate and graduate students to become involved in the community as service learning assistants. Service learning assistants may assist faculty with service learning classes (i.e., implementation, assessment), community-based research (i.e., action research, applied research), or other forms of the scholarship of engagement (i.e., completing a scholarly project for a community agency). Through the involvement of service learning assistants, CSL hopes more students will become involved in the community and more readily address community needs.
Scholarships for $750 to $1,000 are available for students nominated by an instructor or faculty member and who have completed a minimum of 15 IUPUI credit hours with at least a 2.75 GPA.

Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program (NELRP)
The Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program (NELRP) offers registered nurses substantial assistance to repay educational loans in exchange for service in eligible facilities located in areas experiencing a shortage of nurses. Authorized by Section 846 of the Public Health Service Act, NELRP's goal is to assist in recruiting and retaining professional nurses who are dedicated to providing health care to underserved populations. Eligibility requirements include: a nursing diploma, ASN/ADN degree, or BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing; have unpaid qualifying loans obtained for nursing education; U.S. citizenship; full-time employment at an eligible health facility; and a current unrestricted RN license.
All NELRP participants must agree to work full time in an approved health facility. For two years of service, NELRP will pay 60 percent of the participant’s total qualifying loan balance; for three years of service, the NELRP will pay 85 percent of the participant's total qualifying loan balance. A participant who agrees to serve two years may be eligible to amend the NELRP contract and work a third year at an eligible health facility for which the NELRP will pay an additional 25 percent of the qualifying loan balance.
