Special Funding Opportunity for 2nd Degree Accelerated BSN Program Spring 2014 Applicants
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Scholarship is a one-time award for full-time Indiana University School of Nursing majors in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) degree program for students entering IUSON Spring 2014. The scholarship award is $10,000 per recipient. Award recipients will be selected based on the following criteria: applied for FAFSA, must have financial need, scholastic achievement, and a one page written essay explaining why you are interested in the profession of nursing, and need for financial support. The deadline for submitting the IUSON On-Line application for the 2013-2014 academic year is Monday, April 1, 2013.
Please read the following information very carefully.
- To be eligible for consideration for IUSON scholarships all applicants are required to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The priority deadline to be considered for federal grants is March 10, 2013.
- Returning nursing students must be enrolled in fall nursing courses on or before May 31, 2013. (The only exception is for students who are awaiting a decision for fall admission. Please select the status awaiting admission decision when completing the student data on the application).
- It is important that you accurately complete the student data, reporting community service, work experience, etc. This information will be used to determine your eligibility to apply for scholarships.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered for scholarships and applicants will be notified of their ineligibility.
Federal regulations require that we consider all of your resources when determining eligibility for financial aid. Receipt of a scholarship/grant may change the composition of your financial aid award package-in some cases, which may reduce your student loans or Federal Work-Study.
