(Last day to register is May 1, 2013)

Cost: $750; $695 NLN members
Contact Hours:

Faculty: Barbara Manz Friesth, PhD, RN

This course provides nurse educators an opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills for using computer technologies to support the teaching/learning process. Emphasis is given to theoretical frameworks that guide the selection, use, and integration of computer technologies in education programs.

This course is fully online, so you may complete your assignments on your own schedule. However, you must be available on a regular basis (several times a week) to participate with your classmates by logging in to the course. You will be expected to submit written work online and respond online to others’ written work, as well as participate in online discussions on course content. The richness of online learning is dependent upon the qualitative participation of all course participants, so you should plan to login several times each week.

As with any Web course, you should plan on spending about one hour a week for each course credit per number of weeks in the semester as well as three to nine hours a week per course credit in reading, preparing assignments to post to the discussion forum topic, and responding to your classmates’ postings.
