This course integrates concepts of assessment and evaluation into a nursing education framework. Students analyze assessment/evaluation concepts, models, and frameworks for applicability for students, faculty, curricula, and programs.
This course is fully online, so you may complete your assignments on your own schedule. However, you must be available on a regular basis (several times a week) to participate with your classmates by logging in to the course. You will be expected to submit written work online and respond online to others’ written work, as well as participate in online discussions on course content. The richness of online learning is dependent upon the qualitative participation of all course participants, so you should plan to login several times each week.
As with any Web course, you should plan on spending about one hour a week for each course credit per number of weeks in the semester as well as three to nine hours a week per course credit in reading, preparing assignments to post to the discussion forum topic, and responding to your classmates’ postings.
To receive contact hours all course requirements must be successfully completed within the timeframe of the course. Completion standards are the same for continued education and academic graduate credit and must score at least 80% to pass the course. The course is asynchronous and fully online.
When deciding whether to take this course for academic credit or for contact hours, you should consider any requirements for national certification. For more information, see:
